Overturning of Roe v. Wade marks the beginning of a great new chapter in America’s history!
Former Vice President Mike Pence took to Twitter and said, “Having been given this second chance for Life, we must not rest and must not relent until the sanctity of life is restored to the center of American law in every state in the land!”
In this historic move, the U.S. Supreme Court has voted 6-3 to overturn Roe v. Wade, making abortion effectively illegal in many states. The decision comes almost 50 years after abortion was made legal in the United States. As a result of the decision of Supreme Court, the power goes back to the states who now have the legislative authority to enact abortion laws. Both—for or against—abortion. We are hopeful that more than half of states will strictly ban abortions while some states may have conditional laws.
According to the Center for Reproductive Rights, a group that fights abortion restrictions in court and closely tracks state laws, 25 states are likely to ban abortion. Those states are: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

With this great news, we can rest assured that the number of abortions will drop and more innocent lives will be saved. It is indeed the best news we have heard in years and a celebratory time for all pro-life women’s health centers, churches that supported life, the people in authority who made this possible, the pro-life generation and many others who will one day look back on this momentous event and praise God they were spared because of this day!
In many states, nothing has changed and the mission is even more urgent than ever. Some women will pursue “abortion tourism,” crossing state lines to pursue in one what is illegal in another.
In states where restrictions become active, Pro-life pregnancy centers will continue to help relieve the main causes of abortion, which are a lack of pregnancy support and financial help.
Missy Ciccarello, West Virginians for Life Kanawha and Putnam County Chapter President says they are ready to provide support. “We’re excited. We’re ready to put our feet to the ground to help these women. We’re not just about saving babies, we want to help the mothers too,” said Ciccarello.

- Continue to build a safety net for women who want to avoid an abortion.
- Offer help to women facing unplanned pregnancy with optimism and medical assurance for safety and professionalism.
- Help women out of the spiral of “I don’t have a choice!” There is always a choice—and talking through it and gaining education and support can help bridge that gap.
- Increase security and monitoring. Attacks against centers are increasing due to domestic terrorism and ignorance of the tremendous value free clinics bring to women in need.
- Discuss about vandalism incidents and the ongoing situation with your donors! They need to know how to best pray for you and support you. We have momentum! Ride that wave to save as many as we can!
